Troubleshooting

Why are some stats missing from my activity?

If a metric is missing from your workout summary, it’s usually due to one of these reasons:

1. Your Apple Watch model

Some advanced stats require newer hardware.

  • Running Dynamics (Ground Contact Time, Vertical Oscillation) are only available on Apple Watch Series 8, SE (2nd gen), Ultra, and newer.

  • Running Power is calculated only on SE (2nd gen), Series 8, Ultra, and newer.

Older watches simply cannot record these metrics.

2. The activity type

Different sports record different data.

  • Running-specific metrics (like Stride Length) will not appear for cycling.

  • You won’t see swimming stats during a run, etc.

3. Weak or no GPS signal

Location-based metrics need strong GPS.

  • Affects: Distance, Pace, Elevation, Map/Route.

  • GPS can drop when running indoors, through tall buildings, or in canyons/forests.

If no GPS is available during part of the run, those data points will be incomplete or missing.

4. Health permissions

If you didn’t grant full permissions, Milo cannot read your data.

To check:

iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Milo

Make sure all relevant categories (especially Heart Rate, Workout Routes, Active Energy) are turned on.
