Training Data

What are the different run types and how does this help me?

Milo looks beyond pace and distance. We track key running dynamics to help you understand how you run and how to improve your efficiency.

What we measure:

  • Cadence: Steps per minute

  • Ground Contact Time: How long each foot stays on the ground

  • Power: Your running work rate, measured in watts

  • Stride Length: Distance covered per step

  • Vertical Oscillation: How much you bounce up and down

What Milo does with this data:

Milo analyzes these metrics together to identify your natural running style, such as relying on power or gliding with a smooth stride. This is not about good or bad form. It is about understanding your tendencies.

How this helps you improve:

With your runner profile, Milo can recommend focused ways to run more efficiently.

For example:

  • Low cadence with lots of bounce may lead to tips for increasing step rate.

  • A powerful runner with a short stride may get cues for better forward propulsion.

By understanding your mechanics, you can run smarter, not just harder.
