What are Race Predictions and how are they calculated?
Race Predictions are estimated finish times for common race distances, like the 5k, 10k, half marathon, and marathon. They help you set realistic goals and understand your current fitness level.
How they work
Race Predictions are based entirely on your Milo Run Score.
A strong performance at one distance predicts what you might be capable of at others. For example, the fitness needed to run a 22-minute 5k corresponds to roughly a 1:42 half marathon.
When you enter a recent race time in your settings, Milo calculates your Milo Run Score. That score is then used to estimate your equivalent times for other distances.
A benchmark, not a guarantee
Race Predictions show what your fitness suggests you could run under ideal conditions. Your actual result will depend on:
Training that matches the race distance
Conditions like weather, terrain, and course layout
Execution such as pacing, fueling, and hydration
Think of your Race Predictions as a guide to what is possible with the right preparation.
